The holiday season is an excellent time to spend with family and friends. It is also an incredibly rewarding time to give back to others. Cresa Atlanta believes in “paying it forward” and seeks opportunities throughout the year, and especially during the holiday season, to volunteer and help our community.

On Monday, December 14, volunteers from Cresa Atlanta, WB Interiors and the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors’ Community Service Committee participated in an annual craft day at The Study Hall.

The Study Hall is an after-school and summer camp program serving children from Kindergarten through fifth grade in the greater Peoplestown community in Atlanta. The Study Hall programs offer an educational and enrichment curriculum that equips children to achieve sustained personal and academic success.

The Study Hall was one of the organizations chosen as the ACBR Community Service Committee’s beneficiaries.  Each beneficiary is chosen by the ACBR committee and has a term of three years before expiring and another charity is selected. Even though The Study Hall’s term had passed, WB Interiors continues to organize this Holiday event.

Being a part of Cresa Atlanta and our firm’s involvement in the community, this is just one other avenue we can experience to give back. “It makes it so worthwhile when you see approximately eighty-five kids running around one room with the hugest smiles on their faces.  This truly is an incredible event to be a part of,” said Hugh Rader, Vice President with Cresa Atlanta.

Volunteers spent the afternoon making crafts, building gingerbread houses and wrapping gifts alongside children at The Study Hall. Crafts include snow globes, jewelry, holiday cards and other festive items.

Many thanks to Elizabeth Sessions, President of WB Interiors, and her family for organizing the facility decorations and the assortment of craft materials. For over a decade, Elizabeth has focused on this terrific event.

Each year, Elizabeth features a new and unique craft project for the children to make as gifts. This year’s gift incorporated a ‘green’ theme. Elizabeth painted colorful clay pots and saucers, and each child had fun decorating their own pot. Once the pots were completed, the children were given a small bag of soil and a holiday packet of seed. Volunteers helped each child bag it all up and “tie it together with a bow.” What a great opportunity to get into the holiday spirit for the children and volunteers!

Glancing at the few attached photos, you see the great smiles and the glimmer in each child’s eyes during this afternoon party!

Cresa Atlanta hopes you and your family have a wonderful Holiday Season, with best wishes for peace, joy and prosperity in the New Year!
